UT Bands Logo
The University of Tennessee Band Program is one of the most prestigious university band programs in the United States. Founded in 1869, the program is known for both its outstanding concert and athletic organizations. The University of Tennessee Bands have performed across the country in a variety of venues.
Dr. Gary Sousa, Band Director selected Pyxl (then Image Communications) to recreate the logo for the University of Tennessee bands as something that was more representational of the group. The design features a trumpeter in the UT band uniform, in the traditional Tennessee Vol orange.
The design garnered a 2009 Knoxville ADDY Award for the Pyxl Team.

SHAR3D T-Shirt
For the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, the Pyxl team wanted to find a way to leave our mark on attendees of the official CES tweetup. To do this, we designed these SHAR3D t-shirts to distribute to tweetup guests. Playing off the current buzz around 3D technology, the design is fun yet appealing to the tech-savvy attendees of CES.
Produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the International CES is a major technology-related trade show held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada, traditionally hosting over 100,000 people. With more than four decades of success, the CES reaches across global markets, connects the industry and enables consumer electronics innovations to grow and thrive.

Work the Polls Website
Client: Howard Baker Center
In Knox County, Tennessee, finding and training experts and support staff needed to operate polling stations is a challenge each election. To meet this challenge, Pyxl partnered with the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy and the Knox County Election Commission to develop a website, online training videos and an awareness campaign on three college campuses to recruit and train at least 200 college students to be poll workers in Knox County on election day.
The result of the campaign included 3,000 visits to the website and 295 registered poll workers. Of the registered poll workers, 91 percent listed that they were currently enrolled in college. By signing up 269 college students, Pyxl exceeded our goal by 34 percent.

Carpathia Website
As a company that currently handles over 1 percent of all international Internet traffic, Carpathia Hosting provides hosting and managed services to some of the largest content providers on the Internet and, in recent years, has become one of the hosting industry’s superpowers.
Since 2008, Pyxl has assisted Carpathia in a variety of marketing-related tasks, essentially serving as the company’s outsourced marketing team.
In late 2009, Pyxl worked with Carpathia to design and develop the latest version of Carpathia’s website. Organized around a sun and satellite model, Pyxl created Carpathia's main site to be very focused with simple navigation, ensuring a user-friendly experience. Off this main site, the team developed satellite "microsites" discussing each of Carpathia's major solutions, allowing current and future customers to find all the information they need in the easiest manner possible.

CES Website
With more than four decades of success, the International CES is the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow. It unites more than 140,000 retail buyers, distributors, manufacturers, market analysts, importers, exporters and press from 140 countries.
In 2010, Pyxl was chosen to redesign and develop the official CES website, CESWeb.org. Pyxl worked hand-in-hand with the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) technical staff, creating a high-quality website reflective of the large and reputable international event. Pyxl's team seamlessly integrated the new website into CEA's current content management system, incorporating new functionality and social media integration.

Pilot Flying J Website
As both the largest travel center chain in the US and the largest purveyor of over-the-road diesel fuel in the country, Pilot Flying J is an international company with an expanded network of approximately 550 interstate travel centers and travel plazas.
In 2010, Pyxl was hired to design and develop PilotFlyingJ.com, the official web presence of the company after the mid-2010 merger of Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J. Pyxl worked with Pilot Flying J to launch a dynamic, user-friendly online destination to support the Pilot Flying J brand. This included the creation of a full scale website, a website optimized for the iPad and a mobile version optimized for iPhone and Android devices.
Pyxl’s online strategy used the best parts of web development, mobile accessibility, social media and the internal applications used by Pilot Flying J to increase the brand’s penetration online.

FlutterToday Website
FlutterToday is a locally owned and operated online community that gives users one deal a day to restaurants, bars, nightspots, attractions and events in East Tennessee.
Pyxl worked with FlutterToday to launch the company’s web presence. The website, which was built on the MODx content management system, allows site managers from the FlutterToday team to update content on the site quickly and easily without having to use code. This feature empowers clients to update their own site content and greatly reduces costs.

ReelTime Golf Logo
ReelTime Golf is a service that allows students of PGA pro golfers to review their golf lesson videos online, at any time from most Internet-enabled devices.
To help launch ReelTime Golf, Pyxl's design team created the ReelTime Golf logo, which features imagery that truly conveys what the service is about.
Carpathia Hosting Logo
After a year of significant growth, Carpathia Hosting needed to overhaul its brand. What was once an emerging technology company evolved to become a hosting superpower responsible for handling 1 percent of all international Internet traffic, and the Carpathia management team knew that its brand would need to be redesigned in order to reflect the growth of the company and the breadth of offerings it had developed.
Prior to re-designing and developing the company’s corporate web presence, Pyxl worked with Carpathia to design the latest version of its logo -- a design representative of the direction the hosting company had grown in.

KNOXPOP Logo
KNOXPOP (Knoxville Power of Photography) is a charity organization created to allow the Knoxville community to utilize the talents of the growing photography community for the sake of bringing joy to the neighborhood and giving them a voice through the art of photography.

Knoxville Challenger Logo
A USTA Pro Circuit event, the Knoxville Challenger has a proven track record of drawing the new wave of top tennis athletes and offers $50,000 in prize money each year. Since 2009, Pyxl has worked as the official marketing partner of the Knoxville Challenger.
Prior to the 2009 event, Pyxl designed a new logo for the Knoxville Challenger. The logo incorporates two symbolic items: the Knoxville Sunsphere and a tennis ball, which together represent the local angle of this USTA event.
Social Slam Logo
When Social Media Club Knoxville began planning the inaugural Social Slam, a one-day social media conference to be held in Knoxville, the organization knew it would need a logo in order to promote the event on a national level.
Pyxl worked with Social Media Club Knoxville to design a professional yet fun logo with the emphasis on the evolution of digital media for business. This was a movement of social media, so the brand design was created to be contemporary with a subtle vintage typeface to hint at the historical development within interactive communication and the development into social media for today.
Half Off Depot Promo Video
Half Off Depot, a social commerce company with operations around the world, chose Pyxl to deliver a variety of integrated marketing services, including the creation of an animated video for use on the company’s website and social media outlets.
Concepted, designed and animated by the Pyxl team, the Half Off Depot video was created to assist Half Off Depot in getting more businesses to participate in the service. Animated in Adobe After Effects, the informative video was optimized for the web and pairs nicely with Half Off Depot’s other awareness initiatives.
Carpathia & Equinix Partnership Video
As a company that currently handles over 1 percent of all international Internet traffic, Carpathia Hosting provides hosting and managed services to some of the largest content providers on the Internet and, in recent years, has become one of the hosting industry’s superpowers.
In February 2011, Carpathia announced a very large-scale partnership with data center provider, Equinix. To further promote the announcement, Pyxl created an animated video for use on both companys’ websites, press materials and social media outlets. Concepted, designed and animated in Adobe After Effects, the informative video was optimized for the web and pairs nicely with Carpathia’s other announcement initiatives.

Carpathia Mobile Website
After designing and developing the latest version of Carpathia Hosting’s website, the Pyxl team also utilized their expertise in mobile by designing and developing a smartphone optimized version of the site. While the mobile-enabled site is not a full recreation of the site, its clean interface allows iPhone and Android users to view the slimmed down version of the site on-the-go.

Half Off Depot iPhone App
As consumer demand for convenience continues to rise, more and more companies are seeing the necessity in releasing mobile applications to improve customer engagement. To help Half Off Depot better engage with its loyal customers, Pyxl designed and developed the company’s official application for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The app, which is currently available for free download in the Apple App Store, enables deal seekers to browse discounts from 50-90 percent off at shops, restaurants, bars, attractions and events in their respective cities on-the-go. The new app allows users to access Half Off Depot’s virtual shopping mall of discounts, with the option to purchase deals in just one click.
The app integrates directly into Magento Enterprise, the ecommerce platform used by Half Off Depot, was constructed using Objective-C, and communicates to Half Off Depot’s live site using PHP. By tying directly into Half Off Depot’s website, the ecommerce app is able to show real-time product availability.

Kyoo Logo
Kyoo is a dynamic data visualization product that intelligently finds, indexes and aggregates social content from around the web on one easy-to-digest visual dashboard.
When the Pyxl team first designed and developed Kyoo, they knew its logo would have to stand out. Pyxl's team designed a professional yet fun logo with the emphasis on the different “kyoos” overlapping and linking together. Because many social media products and services place large emphasis on iconography, the team also created the recognizable "K" icon.

Boyd's Jig & Reel Website
Our design team created Boyd's Jig & Reel website to bring to life the Scottish pub and its culture online. They started with an antique-looking wood background, and followed with Gaelic type and Scottish imagery to help maintain the originality.
The Pyxl team worked with The Boyds to make the website and experience that included everyone and helped educate people on the Scottish culture.
The unique, yet traditional feel of this website will be a home base for customers to return and stay involved thanks to its cool functionality. In addition, because the site was built in the MODx Content Management System, the Boyd’s team can easily edit the content and add events without the use of code.

CES Photo Contest
In association with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), Pyxl was contracted to create a photo contest for the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The contest was designed for CES attendees to submit photo entries in categories such as travel, people, pets and cell phone pictures. Pyxl designed the site with clean typefaces and high contrast imagery to emit a sense of excitement. To support the contest, Pyxl custom developed a PHP form that allowed participants to submit their photos. The system then stored their information and photos to be judged at a later date.
After the top 5 photos in each category were selected, the site was rebuilt to show the photos and give site visitors the ability to vote using a custom-built voting system. CEA Greener Gadgets
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) wanted to create an online resource where consumers could learn to be both tech-savvy and environmentally friendly. To assist, Pyxl designed and developed CEA Greener Gadgets to teach others how to calculate their energy usage so they know when it is time to get a new product or appliance and where to recycle their old ones.
In order to do that, the Pyxl team developed two custom web applications. The first web app is an in-depth energy calculator. It clearly illustrates a consumer’s usage and details costs for their energy bills monthly and yearly. Users go in and input their usage of a certain electronic and calculate how much they are spending versus how much they could save. The second web app is an electronics recycling locator. Users put in their zip code, and it brings up the closest electronics recycling locations.

My Pilot App

In addition, customers can see instant stats on their Pilot Flying J loyalty accounts, including total points, shower credits, balances and rewards. By tying directly into Pilot Flying J’s website, the app is able to connect to all news and social media accounts for direct interaction.

CES Social Circle Logo
In association with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), Pyxl was contracted to create the official social media destination of the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) – Social Circle. Before designing and developing the web presence, Pyxl designed the Social Circle logo.
The logo was based around 3 major influences: the CES logo, keeping with the same overlaid colors and clean lines for brand association; the "chat" boxes in a circle denote dimension and interactivity, appropriate for the application because it's all about CES fans & industry leaders communicating globally; and the cylindrical shape are reminiscent of trade show signage and are meant to remind the audience of the large-scale circular displays seen all around CES.
